Cruises from Isla de Providencia
Isla de Providencia (or Old Providence) is part of the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, two island groups 775 k, NW of mainland Columbia. The islands are actually closer to Nicaragua, in the Western Caribbean. Its history includes the Spanish claim in 1510, the settlement of an English Puritan colony in 1629 (with their slave trading and privateering), and the base for pirate Henry Morgan who raided the Sanish Main (the coasts of the region).
