Cruises from Harbour Island
Harbour Island lies on the eastern edge of the Bahamas facing the Atlantic Ocean. It lies 350 km due east of Miami, and 85 km ENE of Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. This is the region where a number of cruise lines have established their resorts as ports in their Caribbean itineraries. Its outstanding feature is its pink sand beaches along the eastern shore. The colour comes from grain-size foraminifera shells. Small vessels dock along the western shore that faces the large lagoon separating Harbor Island from the much larger Eleuthera (island). Eleuthera can also include some smaller islands, including Harbour Island.
