Georgetown, South Carolina, USA, is located on Winyah Bay at the confluence of the Black, Great Pee Dee, Waccamaw, and Sampit rivers. From the Atlantic Ocean throuogh the Bay to Georgetown is about 23 km. The harbour is the second largest in South Carolina (after Charleston), and the population of the town is almost 10,000.
