Cruises from Ciudadela
Ciutadella (Ciutadella de Menorca) is a small port on the west coast of the island of Menorca, one of the Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea belonging to Spain. It lies 205km to the SW of Barcelona. Founded by the Carthaginians, it has been occupied by Moors, Spaniards, Turks and British. While today it is the prime port for services to Mallorca, the larger port of Maó-Mahón (east end of the island) connects by ferry to mainland Spain and serves the cruise ship market.
That is changing now with extensive development underway to create a deep water port capable of handling large cruise ships in the future.
