Cruises from Maewo Island
Maewo is an island in Vanuatu in Penama province, 105 km to the east of Espiritu Santo with a population of 1,772. Maewo is the island with the highest rainfall in Vanuatu, and is well-wooded and fertile, full of green, lush vegetation and there is plenty of fresh water as well as many beautiful waterfalls. There are also hot springs located in the central of the island. It is a rugged, long and narrow island with many swift flowing creeks and rivers.

The only tourists are cruising yachts from May to October each year and there is limited accommodation is available at a few guesthouses and bungalows. Most of Maewo's population lives on the narrow coastal strip along the west coast. Their main source of income is copra and sometimes they sell some kava and/or taro.
