Cruises from El Guamache
El Guamache is a cruise ship and ferry port in the Bay of Guamache, on the mid south coast of Isla de Margarita, 25 km off the coast of Venezuela. Discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1498, the local natives, named Guaiqueries, received the conquering Spaniards with open arms, later to become slaves to the Spanish Crown. At the port there is a small booth with tour operators and information, as well as some vendors selling souvenirs. Cruise passengers can rent jet skis at the port, as well as paddle boats and banana boats.
