Sevastopol, the second largest port in Ukraine, is located on the Black Sea coast of the Crimean peninsula. Due to its military history, under siege for 11 months in the Crimean War and then besieged by the Germans in WWll, most streets in the city are named after Russian and Soviet military heroes.
