Cruises visiting Charlotteville & all Charlotteville cruises for  2020

Charlotteville is home to a fishing community on Man O’War Bay, Tobago, the smaller of two islands that make up the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the southern Caribbean Sea. Tobago is hilly and of volcanic origin, with tropical climate, lying just south of the hurricane belt (though it was damaged significantly in 2004). Separating Tobago from continental South America is the larger island of Trinidad. Charlotteville offers a chance to take in the Caribbean way of life as it is off the main tourist belt, but can also take in the outstanding views of the bay.

The locals are most friendly, so join them over a meal of freshly-caught fish, breadfruit casserole, and bananas picked from the tree. Also very popular is to hire one of the fishing guides to take you along the coast. Be sure to get one of the local guides to take you into the rain forest, and go up the hill to the old WW2 submarine ‘look out’ spot. There are also old sugar mill ruins in the town. From Fort Campleton there is an impressive view of the really beautiful Pirates Bay beach, Man-O-War bay, and Flagstaff Hill. You can even see reefs, fish and fishing.

Many take an Island tour, as it is a pleasure to see the natural Caribbean life - away from the effect of tourist commercialisation. For example, the beautiful yellow poui trees, harbinger of the rainy season, are stunning in their natural setting. Watch the fishermen cleaning the day's catch at the little market. Snorkelling and scuba diving among the coral reefs are also popular.
