Yaroslavl is a city and administrative center of Yaroslavl Oblast in Russia, located 250 kms north-east of Moscow. It is located at the confluence of the Volga and the Kotorosl, about 250 km northeast of Moscow. From the eleventh century, it became a very important commercial center and is famous for its many churches in the seventeenth century.
