Cruises from Sur
Sur, on the coast of the Gulf of Oman in NE Oman, lies 150 km SE of the capital Muscat. To the far north of the Gulf is Afghanistan, and to the west the United Arab Emirates. Sur has long been known as an important destination of sailors trading between East Africa and India. Today, as for centuries previously, it is renowned as a major dhow-building centre. It is a quiet town, which has a genuine Arabic feel, and where you can wander amongst the locals and absorb the local culture.
