Cruises from Whangaroa Harbour

Whangaroa Harbour is an inlet on the northern coast of New Zealand and is protected from the sea by a narrow harbour entrance. Whangaroa's scenery is awe-inspiring, with towering sheer bluffs and ancient volcanic rock formations protruding through steep forested shores, with its colours reflected in tranquil water. Being almost landlocked, it is great for diving, swimming and boating, but it is best known as a fishing spot, and more particularly as a base for deep-sea fishing.

Indeed, it is known as the 'The Marlin Capital' of New Zealand. As a number of small but important wetlands and tidal rivers are also found here, it is a stunning area to explore by boat. The area also has some spectacular coastal walkways, as well as nearby access to Puketi Forest for hiking or eco-tours. It is regarded as being one of the most beautiful maritime areas in the world. The small harbour town has some good shopping as well as dining and vineyard experiences to be enjoyed.
