Cruises visiting Kristiansand & all Kristiansand cruises for  2020-2021

View Kristiansand 2020-2021 cruises for 5 ships listing 7 cruises from Kristiansand with today's best deals!

Kristiansand is the southernmost city in Norway and lies where the rivers Otra and Tovdalselva enter into Skagerak. It is an interesting city retaining many of the 17th century buildings from its founding days by King Christian IV. The city is home to some of the best beaches - such as Hamresanden Beach located just 10 minutes from the city centre - in Norway. Kristiansand is also renowned for its cultural events, such as the numerous festivals held throughout the year, which include the Bragdoya Blues Festival in June, the Dark Season Festival in October, and the International Children’s Film Festival in April.

In the summer most locals and visitors frequent the Fish Market at Fiskebrygga that now has a traditional landing area for boats, as well as delightful restaurants and shops. The museum in the centre of town runs an extensive program to interest people of all ages. It works to generate interest, engagement, knowledge and understanding of the arts, crafts and other visual arts. Also to be appreciated is the delightful fountain, the park along the sea front, and the Kilden Performing Arts Centre. The sightseeing street train is an interesting and enjoyable way to see the centre of Kristiansand in the summer season.

The Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park just east of the city has a wide selection of animals in, for the most part, natural habitats. This includes wolves, tigers, lions, and the lynx. The zoo is open 365 days while the amusement park is open during the summer season only. If time permits take a boat or ferry to visit some of the fascinating islands of the nearby archipelago. Take a stroll through Kristiansand's charming old town Posebyen. It has one of Northern Europe's largest collections of low-rise, wall-to-wall wooden houses. Posebyen is the most characteristic residential area in Kristiansand.
