Carly is very friendly and I felt i could ask her all of my questions without feeling stupid! I will definitely contact her again (and very shortly) when we book our next cruise. We have decided that there is no other way for us to holiday."

Kudat is a port town on the northern tip of the state of Sabah, East Malaysia, on the island of Borneo. The 70,000 inhabitants come from diverse ethnic backgrounds, but principally Rungus. The town is an administrative centre, neatly laid out, and sports a modern resort, marina and championship golf course. It still bears the marks of wartime occupation.

Visitors are introduced to Rungus life and dwellings. Rungus longhouses are long, rectangular, lowset communal living quarters, and a visit is most educational. Rungus life centres around rice, coconut and banana cultivation. Women weave distinctive cloths and make containers from vines and beadwork. Other productions are brass gongs and honey. Traditional animistic worship and female shamans have mainly changed by Christian influence.
