Comino (Maltese: Kemmuna) is a small island sandwiched between the larger islands of Gozo and Malta, all part of the Maltese archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. Sicily is 80 km to the north, and Tripoli (Libya) in Africa 350 due south. Named after the herb cumin that one flourished there, the island is only 3.5 sq.km., and home to just a handful of permanent residents.
