Cruises from Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv is Israel’s second largest city (pop. 433,000) located on the Mediterranean coast. The city was founded in 1909 by Jewish immigrants on the outskirts of the ancient port city of Jaffa, about 55 km WNW of Jerusalem. The old city is situated on a rocky hill of about 35 m. Its harbor, the only natural one between Mount Carmel (port of Haifa) and the border of Egypt, is formed by a low ledge of rocks about 100 m from the coast. Cruise ships more commonly berth at Haifa (90km north) or Ashdod (30km south).
