Cruises from Thousand Islands
The Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu) is a group of around 130 islands in Jakarta Bay, Indonesia. It is one of seven National Marine Parks in Indonesia. The islands spread over 45 km from N to S. Speedboats from Jakarta’s Ancol Marina take minutes to two hours to reach the islands, with their white sands, palms, coral reefs, and calm waters. The further from Jakarta, the clearer the water. Most of the islands are in a Marine National Park (no fishing).
Read moreThere are 11 resorts with bungalows for day-trippers or longer-stayers from Jakarta. Many poor fishermen live alongside, most of them on Pulau Kelapa (Coconut Island). The islands have a population of around 15,000, with the district centre Pulau Pramuka.
