San Antonio (Sant Antoni de Portmany) is a town on the west coast of the Spanish island of Ibiza, the third largest of the Balearic Islands (the largest being Majorca). The town is situated on Sant Antoni Bay facing Valencia 150km to the WNW. Ibiza is known as an international party destination, attracting many of the world's most popular DJs to its nightclubs. San Antonio has been a fishing village for thousands of years, but in the 1950s tourism began to develop. The town attracts more boisterous holiday-makers in their 20s and fewer families.

In the centre of the main roundabout near the marina is a statue The Egg, claiming here was the birthplace of Christopher Columbus (actually it was near Genoa). Along the harbourside promenade across from rows of palm trees and fountains are restaurants with a view of the bay. In the evening the Sunset Strip with its bars, nightclubs and music is where to be. High season for night life is mid-June – mid-September; before and after this is a good time for couples. At the four town beaches are pedaloes, sailing, windsurfing, jet-skis and parasailing and so on. In summer they can be very crowded. It’s easy to take a boat to other beaches.

Visit Cap Blanc Aquarium to see brightly coloured fish, octopus, rays and other marine creatures in their natural underwater habitat in this eerie underground cavern. Other activities include the Bungee Rocket ride, the tourist land-train to the hillside village of Santa Ines, and horse-riding. Fifteen kilometres to the east is the island’s main town Ibiza Town. See the Dalta Vila (High Town/Old Town), and further to the SE are saltpans.
