It was a very easy process to book the cruise & Natasha was very helpful with selecting my cabin. I was asked by someone on board who did I book through & I mentioned your company."

Saaremaa is the largest Estonian island, situated on the west coast of Estonia in the Baltic Sea. It is known as a good recreation place with unique nature and a lot of sights. The capital and only city on the island is Kuressaare, which has many of the attractions. Saaremaa has been inhabited for about eight thousand years and been ruled by Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Russia, but has retained its uniqueness due to its location and isolation. In the villages there are still stone fences and houses with thatched roofs, beautiful national costumes, and dialectal language are still used.

As a strategically important place, Saaremaa was a battlefield during both World Wars. Saaremaa as well as Estonia was liberated from the Soviet dictatorship that had lasted a half of a century, in August 1991. Although there are not many post windmills left in Saaremaa's landscape, they are considered one of the most important symbols of Saaremaa. The meteorite crater at Kaali is the biggest in Europe and easily approached by visitors. In the town’s park stands the Episcopal Castle, now a museum, which is unique in being the only intact medieval fortress in the Baltic countries.

Kuressaare also offers visitors a medieval fortress, cosy cafés, a rich cultural scene, plenty of spa and wellness centres, a unique island atmosphere, and beautiful beaches. Then there are the Viidumae and Vilsandi Nature Reserves where there are over two hundred single nature objects under protection - parks, high cliffs, large trees, erratic boulders and unique marshy lowlands. Because of its mild maritime climate and lime-rich soil, Saaremaa has very rich flora and fauna. Each year hundreds of thousands of migratory birds visit Saaremaa including many protected species such as the barnacle goose and mute swan.
