Just booking our next cruise to New Zealand with Russell Cameron now! Looking forward to trying a different cruise line, however have been very happy with Royal Caribbean. It's just that another cruise line has the itinerary I prefer."

Dusseldorf is the capital city of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is a key economic centre of Germany, situated on the River Rhine, and has a high population density. The city dates back to 1135 and flourished with a market square protected by city walls in all four directions. Severely damaged by bombing during WW II, The city's reconstruction proceeded at a frantic pace and the economic transformation saw Düsseldorf grow into a wealthy centre of the German advertising, fashion, and telecommunications industries. It is divided by the Rhine River, with its Old Town on the east bank and modern commercial areas to the west.

In the Old Town, St. Lambertus Church and Castle Tower both date to the 13th century. Streets such as Königsalle and Schadowstraße are lined with boutiques. Today it is renowned for its many events and also for its fashion and trade fairs. The "Kö", which stands for Königsallee ("King's Avenue"), is a popular shopping destination. Some of the most reputed jewellery shops, designer labels, and galleries have their stores here. A trip out to the Olympiapark, site of the 1972 Summer Olympic Games, is always a lovely respite from the urban bustle, but especially so in the warmer months when you can time a spin around the grounds with a free concert.

A pilgrimage to Hofbräuhaus, the world’s most famous beer hall, is a must for every Munich visitor. Even if you don’t feel like downing giant mugs of amber liquid, no one is going to stop you from wandering beneath painted vaulted ceilings around the warren of halls, marvelling at the drunken shenanigans or clapping to the oompah bands. Of Munich’s many churches, the richly decorated diminutive Asamkirche, is an easily bypassed rococo gem tucked between residential houses on a store- and cafe-lined street in the city centre.
