Cruises from Havana
Havana is the major port and leading commercial centre of Cuba, with a population of over 2 million living around the three main harbours. Founded in the early 16th century, it quickly became the principal port of Spain's New World colonies and suffered regular attacks by buccaneers, pirates, and French corsairs. Extensive fortifications followed, and fleets of thousands of ships occupied the harbours while loading the New World treasures for transport to Spain.
