The seaport of Fuzhou is the capital and the largest municipality of Fujian Province, in China. It lies on the north bank of the estuary of the Min River. Banyan trees provide shade for the entire city and it is also renowned for the quantity and quality of its hot springs. The modern infrastructures for supporting tourism are complete and a dazzling array of local dishes and snacks are ever close on hand to be enjoyed.

The city contains a wide selection of tourist attractions, including Sanfang Qixiang – a cluster of ancient residential buildings dated back to the Jin Dynasty, a wide range of temples and other places of worship, and West Lake – an artificial landscape style lake built in 282 AD. There is also a wide selection of parks to be enjoyed, and the Fujian Provincial Museum is of cultural interest. Drum Mountain, a two hour car drive away, is also well worth the visit as it results in a great spectacle of temples, such as the Surging Spring Temple, and mountainous scenery, including waterfalls.

The climate of Fuzhou is comfortable, affording tourists the opportunity to visit all the year round, and enjoy this interesting historic and cultural city, with its over two thousand years of history.
