Gayle was excellent as always and also thought of us when the cruise company needed people to more cabins and be given extra on board credit for doing so. Very happy with Gayle and Clean Cruising."

Vitoria, the small and cosy capital of Espirito Santo, is a city on the SE coast of Brazil, famous for its beaches and culture, and for its proximity to many other tourist destinations in the state. Most of the city's neighbourhoods are surrounded by parks and forests and many cultural events run throughout the year. Possibly best known for its beautiful parks, most visitors travel to see the unusual rock formation that constitutes the centrepiece of Onion Rock Park, and the Parque da Fonte Grande with its numerous well planned walks.

Then there’s the 309m high mountain from which all can appreciate beautiful views of Vitoria and nearby cities. Not to be overlooked is the very long beachside park that runs from the yacht club at Praia do Canto all the way down to Curva da Jurema near Shopping Vitoria. Take the time to appreciate the local architecture as reflected in the Palacio Anchieta, and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Lovers of history will thoroughly enjoy visiting the museums, such as the Art museum - Galeria Homero Massena. Then there’s the Catedral Metropolitana built in the mid 1550s, and nearby is Vitoria’s oldest religious building - Capela de Santa Luzia.

To simply relax with their family, many visit Frade Island, which is connected to Vitoria by the Ponte do Camelo (Camel Bridge). This island is known for its small, intimate beaches and luxurious houses. The most well-known beach here is Praia da Castanheira (Chestnut Beach), a gorgeous spot hidden amongst the island's rocks and trees. This beautiful, almost-virgin beach is surrounded by chestnut trees that provide visitors with much-needed shade. It's ideal for families, with natural pools formed along the rocks where kids can play, and the calm sea is perfect for swimming and snorkelling.
