Cruises from Anavilhanas
About 100 km upriver from Manaus in Brazil, near the township of Novo Airao on the Negro River, is Anavilhanas, the world’s largest archipelago of 400 river islands, with hundreds of lakes, channels and watercourses. The islands are covered with native forest, forming a real natural labyrinth. Creatures commonly found in the area but which are becoming rare elsewhere are Pink River Dolphin, Gray River Dolphin, River Otter and also Giant River Otter.
