Enjoy a White Christmas in Qld with Carnival

When booking a Holidaymakers on Carnival Legend will be living the dream of a white Christmas this year, with Carnival Cruise Line set to make it snow in Queensland. With the ship’s atrium transformed into a winter wonderland, guests will be able to enjoy a very special gift of snow flakes and sunshine as Carnival Legend sails the tropical waters of Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef on its inaugural Queensland cruise.

Departing Sydney on December 20, 2015, the cruise will visit some of Queensland’s most beautiful ports including Airlie Beach (Whitsundays), Yorkeys Knob (Cairns) and Brisbane, while guests can spend Christmas Day exploring the rainforest or snorkelling in tropical Port Douglas. Fares start from $1474* per person twin share.

As well as the festive menus, Carnival Christmas cruises feature a host of themed entertainment and decorations, including a Christmas tree in the atrium, photos with Santa and Christmas movies along with other Christmas games and activities.

Guests can also enjoy a choreographed 30-minute Holiday Show featuring senior crew and Playlist Productions cast members, while the youth teams look after younger cruisers with a Santa sack of activities including singing and dancing in the big Christmas show.

Christmas services, conducted by the cruise director and other entertainment staff are also available onboard.

Princess Cruises' First Film Festival at Sea

As part of Princess Cruises' partnership with Sydney Film Festival, six contemporary New Zealand films will set the scene for the festival, which will take place as Diamond Princess sails from Sydney to Auckland as part of a 12-night roundtrip cruise to New Zealand next February.

Top bill on the inaugural event will be acclaimed New Zealand producer Bridget Ikin, a special guest on the cruise, who has selected the films for the Festival.

Ms Ikin will also present two of her own films, the award-winning 1990 classic, Angel at My Table, directed by Jane Campion, as well as new film Sherpa, which had its World Premiere at the 2015 Sydney Film Festival. Bridget will also host an informative Q&A session for guests at the screenings of her films.

Guests will also enjoy four more New Zealand produced titles as part of the Festival including coming-of-age comedy-drama Boy(2010), Samoan feature film The Orator (O Le Tulafale)(2012), drama feature Dark Horse (2011) and the multi-award winning masterpiece The Piano (1993), also directed by Jane Campion.

The Travelling Festival at Sea will feature on Diamond Princess on her 12-night roundtrip cruise departing Sydney for New Zealand on February 4, 2016.

Fares for the voyage start from $1,599 per person twin share, with ports of call including Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Akaroa, Dunedin and scenic cruising through the stunning waters of Fiordland National Park.
Four New Reasons to love Pacific Pearl

Pacific Pearl will become the latest ship in P&O Cruises’ fleet to offer guests an extra dose of holiday adrenaline, following the addition of the popular P&OEdge Adventure Park as part of a major refurbishment next month.

The new P&OEdge Adventure Park will feature more than 15 great activities including a surfboard simulator offering guests the chance to hang ten on the decks, as well as favourites such as the bungy tramp, flying fox and walk the plank.

When she emerges from the Sydney dry dock on August 15, Pacific Pearl will also offer a PANDORA outlet, enabling guests to indulge in some holiday shopping with one of Australia’s top jewellery brands.

The ship’s décor will take on a stylish new look following the refit, with a fresh colour palette and contemporary furniture, wallpaper, artwork and carpet creating a modern Australian feel for the Orient, Mix bar, Connexions, the Atrium and Luna restaurant. Meanwhile, the Plantation buffet will be redesigned to offer a trendy café vibe.

The multi-million dollar refurbishment will see a general refresh of guest cabins and other public spaces including the Dome, spa and Waterfront restaurant, with a total of 17,000sqm of carpet being fitted on the ship.

Ultra-Luxurious Seabourn Encore unveiled

As strikingly beautiful as it is innovative, Seabourn has revealed design renderings of the luxurious all-suite, all-veranda accommodations on Seabourn Encore, the line's newest, ultra-luxury ship set to launch late 2016. Like everything on board Seabourn Encore, the suites are envisioned by hospitality design icon Adam D. Tihany, who blended modern design elements and innovations consistent with Seabourn's reputation for understated elegance.

Seabourn Encore will feature 300 spacious, well-appointed suites, all of which include a private veranda. The majority of the ship's elegant suites range from nearly 300 square feet for the standard veranda suite, plus a private veranda that is up to 74 square feet, to upwards of 1,300 square feet for the luxurious Wintergarden suites, which also feature verandas of nearly 200 square feet.

Guests will enjoy spacious accommodations featuring striking design, tasteful and sophisticated décor, and abundant light. Luxuriously modern bathrooms will be all marble, and in the Penthouse Suite in particular, guests will have the option of closing off a patterned glass wall to the living room to create a distinctive and private bedroom space.
