Canakkale is a pleasant Turkish town settled on both sides of a bridge of the same name, which connects the Biga Peninsula in Asia. Travelling across town is easiest by the use of regular ferries. Souda Bay is a natural harbour on the NW coast of the Greek Island of Crete. The bay is overlooked on both sides by hills, and near the mouth of the bay is a set of small islands with Venetian fortifications.
