Kangerlussuaq (Danish: Søndre Strømfjord) is a settlement in western Greenland in the Qeqqata municipality, located at the head of a fjord of the same name, and just inside the Arctic Circle. The town lies between glacial-fed Qinnguata Kuussua river to the SE, fjord to the SW, and hills rising sharply to 400m to the north. Sisimiut is a town in central-western Greenland, located on the coast of Davis Strait, approximately 320 km north of Nuuk, and about 42km inside the Artic Circle (April 2017). It is the administrative center of the region and the second-largest town in Greenland. Saqqaq is a village on the Nuussuaq Peninsula in the Quaasuitsup municipality of western Greenland, 380km north of the Arctic Circle (April 2017). Eqip Sermia – Eqi Glacier – is located in West Greenland, 70 km north of Ilulissat settlement, and 260 km inside the Arctic Circle. Many visitors view the impressive glacier which has a 3.5 kilometre wide face and is constantly calving icebergs into the sea. Uummannaq (Umanak) is a town in northwestern Greenland, located 590 km north of the Arctic Circle, on an island in the south-central arm of the fjord all sharing the same name. Kullorsuaq is a settlement in NW Greenland on Kullorsaq Island, Melville Bay, part of the larger Baffin Bay. The island is at the northern end of the vast Upernavik Archipelago that hugs the west coast of Greenland for a distance of 340 km. Pond Inlet is a small, modern, attractive Inuit community (population 1550) located on northern Baffin Island above the 72nd parallel. The town is particularly picturesque hamlet, surrounded by massive icecapped mountains, dozens of glaciers, ice floes and explorable ice caves. Feachem Bay is a small bay 1.4 km wide and 3 km deep, in the Canadian province of Nunavut, that branches off the north side of Buchan Gulf. The Gulf is an elongated Arctic fjord on Baffin Island, 147 km north of the Arctic Circle, that faces the great Baffin Bay. Sam Ford Fjord (Kangiqtualuk Uqquqti) lies within the Arctic Circle on the east coast of Canada’s Baffin Island, between the Inuit settlements of Pond Inlet (330 km to the NW) and Clyde River (80 km to the SE). The fjord is known for its glaciers and rugged beauty, with steep granite cliffs on both sides rising to 1500 m. Its mouth is about 20 km wide, and it extends inland 110 km. Evighedsforden (‘Everlasting Fjord’; also Kangerlussuatsiaq Fjord) in SW Greenland lies just below the Arctic Circle along its 90 km length.
