Bimini is the westernmost part of the Bahamas, two islands and many cays (population 2000). North Bimini is about 11km long and 200m wide, with settlements Alice Town and Bailey Town, and shops, restaurants and bars. The port city of Nassau, which dominates the entire island of New Providence, is the capital of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and interestingly is home to over 70 percent of the country’s population. San Juan, the capital and most populous city of Puerto Rico, is the oldest city on US territory. It is the Caribbean commercial hub, best known for its beautifully restored historic district of Old San Juan. Anguilla (“Eel”, formerly Snake Island due to its shape) is a Caribbean island in the British West Indies, at the northern tip of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles, 270 km due east of Puerto Rico. It is a self-governing overseas territory of the UK with a population around 14,000. The island is low-lying coral and limestone skirted by beaches, coral reefs, and smaller islands and cays.
