Carnival Spirit Cruises

(from 785 verified customers)

While Carnival Spirit has called Australia home for 9 years, it has now been redeployed to Jacksonville, USA, to replace Carnival Ecstasy, sailing there from March 2022. Carnival Spirit is geared for fun - from the little kids right through to the big kids and young at heart! This vibrant ship is sure to keep you more than entertained, no matter what holiday you are seeking. Carrying 2,124 passengers, and measuring nearly the length of three football fields, the ship has a wonderful feeling of space. Refurbished in 2018, Carnival Spirit has been decked out for Aussies with dining options like the ‘Boomerang Burger’ (a must-try), entertainment, power sockets, currency and tips built into your fare all make it a seamless experience aboard for close to home travel. Hallmarks of Carnival are everywhere to be seen, with the cruise line's signature quirky decor throughout and incredibly cheery and helpful Carnival staff - you’ll have no doubt you’re aboard a “Fun Ship”.

Carnival Spirit is home to the largest waterpark at sea in Australia, featuring the world’s steepest vertical drop water slide at sea, Green Thunder - one for the thrillseekers as you zoom up to 65 km/hr. Also aboard you’ll find the impressive nine deck atrium, a multitude of bar and dining spaces, duty-free shopping mall, excellent children’s program plus expansive health and fitness facilities. Attire aboard matches the relaxed atmosphere, being casual most days and evenings with few restrictions. A couple of evenings will be designated “Cruise Elegant” nights, with cocktail attire the expectation, although some guests will take it up a notch in tuxedos and gowns, giving the ship a real festive air. Onboard Experience

  • Dining

    Dining on the Carnival Spirit

The most popular dinner destination is Carnival Spirit’s two-deck dining room called the Empire Restaurant. There are two dining choices to choose from – fixed dining at two separate seatings or flexible “Your Time Dining” which allows you to dine at variable times which suit you whilst on board. Dining can be booked before you board the cruise as well as at reception if you are unsure of preference. When it comes to lunch and dinner the restaurants do have some open seating. Read more

In conjunction with the excellent service the menus also change daily meaning there will be great variety. If you are looking for something a little more casual the Lido Restaurant has a wide range of options which include small buffet counters, salad counters, desserts, a 24-hour pizzeria, ice cream/frozen yoghurt, and a deli. Blue Iguana Cantina will satisfy any Mexican cravings. Poolside you’ll find Guy’s Burger Joint and Fat Jimmy’s C-side BBQ offering burgers, hot dogs and the like. Or perhaps a slice of pizza is on your mind - Pizza Pirate is the place to go. On designated formal nights or “Cruise Elegant”, the dress code is enforced in restaurants (and public lounges) and the specialty dining options are typically busier on these nights, so it’s best to book ahead. Specialty dining options are available for a charge and include Nouveau Restaurant, Seafood Shack, Bonsai Sushi, The Chef’s Table and dining experiences such as Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs & Ham breakfast. The ship’s lolly shop Cherry On Top is another huge favourite. For those nights that you’d prefer to laze in your cabin, 24-hour room service, ranging from basic continental-style breakfast fare to a variety of sandwiches and desserts will have you covered.

  • Bars

    Bar on the Carnival Spirit

There’s a bar to suit your every mood aboard Carnival Spirit with 16 bars to choose from. Blue Iguana Tequila Bar is the place to chill and enjoy a tequila slushy or a Mexican cerveza (beer). To witness the ship’s best mixologists at work, head to Alchemy Bar, where you can choose from the old classics or have a custom creation made just for you. Read more

The RedFrog Pub, sports bar and Casino bar are all popular haunts at different times throughout the day and night. Various cocktail making and tasting experiences can be booked in for a fee - Cruise The Vineyards for examples is one for the wine lovers, taking you around the world in a glass. For non-alcoholic beverages, hot coffee is available at drinks stations throughout at no cost, but if it’s barista-made you’re after, the offerings at the specialty coffee and patisserie European-Style Café are very tempting.
