The consultant that I spoke to, Sally Berry, chose excellent cabins for us. She considered things like passing traffic etc but making sure we weren't too far from the elevators. We were very happy with her service as it was our first cruise."

Carnival Miracle — Ship Review Rating: 3.7 out of 5 based on 3 ratings.

Life aboard Carnival Miracle
Until August 2019 Carnival Miracle is based in Tampa, Florida. From there 7-night cruises visit Central America: Cozumel, with its island attractions and tours to Mayan archaeological sites; Belize City, also with Mayan sites; Roatan, an island in Honduras, with its water features and local cultures; and George Town in the Cayman Islands. The cruise has two sea days and visits four countries. In late 2019 Carnival Miracle relocates to San Diego and visits the Mexican Riviera and Hawaiian islands. Then in February 2020 Miracle returns to the Caribbean, sailing from Miami.

Carnival Miracle began service in 2004, and was most recently refitted in 2015. At 85,942 GT she carries 2,124 passengers, yet gives the feel of not being particularly crowded. Its 11-story atrium with ruby-red glass ceiling is unique. The ship features alternative restaurants, onboard wedding chapels, and creative touches such as museum-quality artwork and “designer” martinis. This “Fun Ship” has a nine-deck-high atrium, and many features to keep one occupied during sea days. Carnival Miracle has received top marks from past guests for the quality of its entertainment and facilities for families and children. Passengers (mostly American) are a broad cross-section of all ages.

Accommodation
The 24 cabin categories include interior staterooms, ocean-view rooms, ocean rooms with French doors (but no balcony), ocean rooms with private balcony, and four grades of suites. Eighty percent of the cabins are outside, and 80 percent of those staterooms have private balconies. Each cabin has a gift amenity basket in its bathroom. Standard cabins are a good size and equipped with all the basics. Most with twin beds can be converted to queen-size bed. Some cabins can accommodate a third and fourth person. Good design and soft lighting add to a feeling of spaciousness in interior staterooms. All staterooms include flat-screen TVs, safe, hair dryer, bathrobes to wear during your cruise, and Carnival Comfort Bed with plush mattresses, good quality duvets, linens and pillows.

There is a wide range of balcony staterooms, and the best staterooms are those with wrap-around views. Suites are larger in size, with walk-in closet, a good-sized bathroom and lounge area, and whirlpool tub. Choose from Junior Suite, Grand Suite, Vista Suite, and Ocean Suite. Suites come with priority check-in. Many cabins have upper and lower bunk beds. There are no single cabins, and 16 wheelchair-accessible cabins. There are self-service laundry rooms with washing machines, dryers, irons and ironing board.

Food and Dining
The ship has a single two decks high dining room – the Bacchus Dining Room – with a choice of fixed-time dining at two seatings, or flexible “Your Time Dining”. Dining assignments can be booked before the cruise. There’s one formal dinner, so come prepared to dress up. Menus change daily and service is excellent. Complimentary espresso, cappuccino and lattes are served in the dining room after a meal. Children have their own menu, plus pizzas and icecream all day. For a treat reserve a place at the 12-seat Chef’s Table that includes a tour of the galley. Nouveau Restaurant (dinner, cover charge) is a superb fine-dining experience not to be missed. Breakfast and lunch are open seating. Seaday Brunch (on sea days) allows you to sleep in.

The Lido Restaurant buffet is an extensive casual eatery, with sections that include small buffet counters, salad counters, a dessert counter, a 24-hour pizzeria, fast food, ice cream/frozen yoghurt station, and deli. Another specialty is Bonsai Sushi for lunch and dinner. Hot coffee is available at drinks stations throughout at no cost, but the offerings at the specialty coffee bar near the pizzeria, as well as Café in the lower promenade area, are extra. The ship offers 24-hour room service, ranging from basic continental-style breakfast fare to a variety of sandwiches and desserts.

Entertainment
There is something for everyone. The Phantom Main Show Lounge spanning three decks presents large production shows and cabaret acts backed by a live show band. There’s an alternative show lounge, Mad Hatter’s Ball, on the lowest deck. Night is the time for late buffet snacks, R-rated comedy, Sam’s piano bar for dancing, Jazz Club and Gotham Lounge have live music in the evening.

Daytime activities include the customary art auctions, karaoke, "game show mania," ballroom dancing, comedians, bingo, The Raven Library and Internet Café. Adults have the large action-packed Mr.Lucky’s Casino. Take an aerobics class, work out in the gym, refresh with a beauty treatment and massage. There’s a mini-golf course, jogging track, and deck games. Teens enjoy their own parties and movies at Club O2, junior teens at Circle “C”, and pre-teens at Camp Carnival. Entertainment extends to the humungous Carnival Waterworks slides and pools.
