Cruises from Paris
Paris, situated on the river Seine in northern France, is the capital and largest city of the country. It is also the most visited city in the world, and the region is home to 3,800 historical monuments and four UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Interestingly, the earliest archaeological signs of permanent settlements in the Paris area date from around 4200 BC. Paris hosts some of the world's most recognizable landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, the cathedral of Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Basilica of the Sacred Heart - a Roman Catholic church - located on the highest point of the city in Montmartre.
Everyone wants to see the major sights of Paris, but take the time, possibly when visiting the landmarks along the delightful Avenue des Champs-Élysées, to visit a cafe, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the world go by.
