Cruises from Kuching
The City of Kuching – Malay for ‘cat’ – is situated on the banks of the Sarawak River on the NW part of the island of Borneo, and is the capital of the East Malaysian State of Sarawak. Today’s Kuching is a delightful blend of modern buildings and old-world attraction. South of the river is the commercial residential area of the Chinese population, while north of the river are the distinctive kampong houses, predominantly Malay in style. Interestingly, the two parts have separate mayors and separate town halls.
Walk down the Main Bazaar with its antique and handicraft shops.
