The Gili Islands, consisting of Trawangn, Meno and Air, are the most popular tourist destinations of Lombok in Indonesia. In a rare display of foresight, all forms of motorised transport are banned from the islands. There are bicycles for rent, but the numerous horse-drawn carts, known as cidomo, are very popular. There is good diving here and while it is known as a teaching centre, there are arrangements for experienced divers as well.
