Cruises from Fort William
Fort William on Scotland’s mid-western coast is the second largest town (pop. 10,000) in the highlands as well as being a major tourist centre. Fort William lies near the head of Loch Linnhe, one of Scotland's longest sea lochs, beside the mouth of the rivers Nevis and Lochy. The town and its suburbs are surrounded by picturesque mountains.
It is a centre for hillwalking and climbing due to its proximity to Ben Nevis (the highest mountain in the British Isles at 1345m) and many other Munro mountains. It is also known for its nearby downhill mountain bike track. It is known as the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’.
