Cruises from Eskifjordur
Eskifjordur is a village and port in eastern Iceland with a population of just over one thousand. Straight across from the village is the mountain Holmatindur, almost a thousand metres in height, which is considered by the locals to be one of the most naturally beautiful in the area. Like most inhabited places in this country, the villagers here mostly make their livelihood by fishing. In commemoration of the mariners who drowned, is a sculpture located along the main road.
