Manado, located on a picturesque bay of the same name and surrounded by mountains, is the capital of the North Sulawesi Province of Indonesia. As the largest city in the region, it is perhaps best known for its large and iconic churches, Asia's 2nd tallest statue of Christ (Christ Blessing Statue), and perhaps the world's first statue in the flying posture, as well as being home to one of Indonesia’s only synagogues.
