Embarkation with Azamara was efficient and uncomplicated despite the absence of online check-in, requiring only a passport and cabin number on arrival. Luggage handling was smooth, cruise cards were issued immediately, and onboarding was quick.

Suzanne and Jo stayed in a midship Oceanview Cabin near Guest Services, which proved to be a fantastic location with easy access to all areas of the ship. The cabin was very quiet, with no noise heard from above, below, or nearby areas. The large window provided plenty of natural light, making the cabin feel bright and spacious.

Benice and Natalya stayed in a Veranda Cabin. The cabin size and layout were very similar to the Oceanview Cabin, with the added benefit of a private balcony featuring full glass sliding doors — perfect for enjoying a morning coffee and fresh sea air.

All cabins are equipped with USB charging ports built into the bedside lamps, ideal for charging phones and tablets. Additional power outlets are located at the desk/vanity area.

The beds were extremely comfortable, with high-quality linen and excellent pillows. Cabin seating includes a desk chair, a small sofa, and a coffee table. The neutral décor creates a light, calm, and relaxing atmosphere. Storage is excellent, with ample wardrobe space, drawers, shelving, and bedside tables. All cabins include a mini-fridge, safe, and hairdryer (powerful enough for thick, long hair).

Bathrooms are compact but functional. The showers are small and feature shower curtains, although the fabric does not cling to you. A well-designed drainage system around the bathroom perimeter keeps the floor dry. Bathrooms also include a nightlight.

While onboard, we toured a Club Continent Suite and were very impressed. The suite offers a true luxury experience, with significantly more living space and a much larger bathroom. Features include a double vanity, a full-sized shower with a glass door, upgraded décor, butler service, complimentary in-room spirits, specialty dining, and additional suite benefits. For those seeking a more premium experience, this upgrade is highly recommended.

There is absolutely no chance you will not find your favorite foods on this ship, while also getting to experience some wonderful local delights along the way. Included in your fare is main dining at the Discoveries Restaurant. The meals served here were amazing, with a selection of classic favorites that changed daily, along with local dishes inspired by the destinations being visited. The buffet was also the best I have ever experienced at sea, offering a huge variety of options for every taste.

For a small additional cost, or included for suite guests, there are the specialty restaurants Aqualina and Prime C. We were lucky enough to dine at Prime C, and I can honestly say it was well worth it — the best steak I have ever had. Outside of the main dining times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there are always snacks available around the ship. Head to the Living Room bar before dinner for prawns, scallops, or antipasto-style delights.

For those with dietary requirements, the staff were incredibly accommodating. If there was something on the menu you liked, you could ask for it to be amended, and if it was within their ability, they would always do their best to help. The buffet also had plenty of dietary options, all clearly labelled, making it easy to choose food safely and confidently.

Azamara offers a strong and inclusive beverage program, with a wide range of beers, wines, sparkling, rosé, and cocktails available as part of the standard fare — more than sufficient for most guests without needing to upgrade. Options included familiar brands like Heineken and Carlsberg, alongside a solid wine selection across red, white, and rosé, with cocktails such as margaritas, daiquiris, and piña coladas readily available. For those seeking higher-end options, premium and ultimate beverage packages were available at an additional daily cost, providing access to upgraded spirits, wines, and cocktails.

The entertainment onboard Azamara Pursuit was a standout feature of the cruise, offering something for absolutely everyone. From quality live performances to engaging themed events, educational lectures and even a silent disco. Every event felt special and well-curated.

One of the highlights was the famous White Night. It was such a great atmosphere, with everyone dressed in white, enjoying amazing food, music, and dancing under the stars. It really felt like one big celebration and was definitely a night to remember.

Another unexpected highlight was the Crew Talent Night. It was fantastic to see the crew step into the spotlight and showcase their hidden talents. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and passion made the evening both entertaining and heartwarming — it quickly became a favourite moment of the cruise.

Overall, the entertainment onboard Azamara Pursuit felt relaxed, inclusive, and really enjoyable—there was always something to suit everyone, and plenty of moments that made the cruise feel extra special.

In terms of pre-cruise preparation, visa and entry requirements were straightforward but required attention to timing. The Indonesia visa is best completed online in advance to streamline airport processing, with travellers needing to present a declaration QR code on exit and ideally carry a printed tourist levy receipt. For Singapore, the arrival declaration must be submitted within 72 hours prior to arrival and is conveniently accessible via the cruise app, with complimentary internet provided for completion. Transfers from Bali Airport to the port were relatively short (20–30 minutes), though arriving the day before embarkation is recommended to avoid any travel delays.

Disembarkation was equally well organised, offering both luggage collection and self-disembarkation options. A notable highlight was the personalised farewell experience, with the Captain and senior crew present to thank guests—reflecting Azamara’s strong focus on service, visibility of leadership, and creating a warm, memorable end to the journey.
