Messina is a harbour on the eastern coast of Sicily, a short ferry crossing to mainland Italy lying to the east. Horta, with a population of about 7,000, is a city on the island of Faial, which is a tourist island with a rich collection of historical, natural and modern attractions, situated in the western part of the Portuguese Archipelago of the Azores.
