One of the biggest attractions on the island is a concrete replica of a buoy at the corner of South and Whitehead Streets, which claims to be the southernmost point in the continental 48 states. Great Stirrup Cay is a small island that is part of the Berry Islands in the Bahamas, about 90 km NNW of the capital Nassau. The narrow island stretches E-W in a 3km arc.
