Mahe is the largest and most important island of the Seychelles archipelago. While this spectacular island is only 27 km long it is dominated by a mountain range with its tallest peak Morne Seychellois, at 930 m in height, being central to a wonderful national park. Cousin Island, just 700 m across, is a small granite island in the Seychelles, in the Western Indian Ocean, 1300 km SW of the Somalian coast of Africa. Of the 160 or so islands of the Seychelles, Cousin is one of 42 granitic islands on the shallow waters (c. 50 m depth) of the Seychelles Bank. Read more about Cousin Island, Seychelles

Praslin is the second largest island of the Seychelles, lying 44 km NE of Mahe. Once used as a hideaway by pirates and Arab merchants, it is now known as a tourist destination as it is home to beautiful turquoise water and white sand beaches such as Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. There are also several very rare birds such as the endemic Seychelles Bulbub and the Seychelles Black Parrot, as well as being the only place on earth that is home to the unique Coco de Mer, a fruit from an extraordinary palm tree. La Digue is the third largest inhabited island of the Seychelles, lying east of Praslin and west of Felicite Island. La Digue also boasts the friendliest people and most tranquil, serene and relaxing atmosphere in Seychelles. Curieuse Island is a small granitic island in the Seychelles off the north coast of Praslin, the second largest island in the Seychelles. The island is notable for being one of only two islands native to the Coco de Mer. Today it is the home of roughly 300 Aldabra Giant Tortoises. Read more about Curieuse, Seychelles

Aride is the northernmost granitic island in the Seychelles archipelago of 115 islands. (There are two coral sand cays north of Aride: Denis and Bird.) The archipelago is set on a raised plateau in the Indian Ocean, with an average waster depth of just 60 m. Aride Island is 1.7 km E-W and 0.6 km N-S, rising to just over 100 m, and covered with a variety of palms, liana vines, and trees to the shoreline. Read more about Aride, Seychelles
