Tropical Charms of the Seychelles

Praslin is the second largest island of the Seychelles, lying 44 km NE of Mahe. Once used as a hideaway by pirates and Arab merchants, it is now known as a tourist destination as it is home to beautiful turquoise water and white sand beaches such as Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. There are also several very rare birds such as the endemic Seychelles Bulbub and the Seychelles Black Parrot, as well as being the only place on earth that is home to the unique Coco de Mer, a fruit from an extraordinary palm tree. La Digue is the third largest inhabited island of the Seychelles, lying east of Praslin and west of Felicite Island. La Digue also boasts the friendliest people and most tranquil, serene and relaxing atmosphere in Seychelles. Curieuse Island is a small granitic island in the Seychelles off the north coast of Praslin, the second largest island in the Seychelles. Aride is the northernmost granitic island in the Seychelles archipelago of 115 islands. (There are two coral sand cays north of Aride: Denis and Bird.) The archipelago is set on a raised plateau in the Indian Ocean, with an average waster depth of just 60 m. Aride Island is 1.7 km E-W and 0.6 km N-S, rising to just over 100 m, and covered with a variety of palms, liana vines, and trees to the shoreline. Read more about Aride, Seychelles
