Empress of the Seas recently returned to Royal Caribbean fleet, following her refit in 2016. As the fleet’s smallest vessel the number of dining and activity options are fewer, yet proportional to the 1600 guests.

Her specialty is offering short breaks, with entertainment for the young and families. There’s good Wi-Fi ship wide and wheelchair access for two interior and two oceanview staterooms. Décor throughout is warm and attractive and there are five bars and lounges, a library and card room for relaxation.)

Menus feature healthy, vegetarian and kosher options. Special dietary needs can be catered for by giving advanced notice. Menus change daily throughout the cruise.

Cabins

Staterooms come in five main categories and 16 price points, with variations based on guests’ needs: Royal Suites, Owner’s Suites, Mini-suites, Oceanview (some with restricted view), and Interior. The Suites have balconies. When selecting accommodation consider the view, the level of privacy, and location near to or far from activity areas. All staterooms come with private bathroom, twin or King size bed, vanity area, hair dryer, interactive TV and phone. Many cabins are family-friendly with up to two additional Pullman or sofa beds.

There are no single or inter-connecting cabins, and four are wheelchair-accessible. In-cabin service and dining is available 24-hours, with a full menu service to the top suites. Suites come with priority check-in, balconies, and depending on the suite you may have whirlpool tub, bath, and other amenities. The stateroom’s TV enables guests to request room service, to book show tickets, shore excursions, movies and specialty dining, and keep track of their onboard account. Smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom and any stateroom balcony. Cigarette, cigar, e-cigarette and pipe smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas.)
