I wore my Clean Cruising lanyard on board & had so many people ask me what your services are like. I told them we would not deal with anyone else that you really look after your customers & that we didn't have to do anything, that you did the lot. The people took a photo of my lanyard so they can contact you for their next holiday. Thanks again Clean Cruising"

Life aboard Empress of the Seas
Empress of the Seas is based in Miami and offers 4- and 5-night getaways to some of the most popular islands in the Caribbean: Nassau, The Bahamas, Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, Grand Cayman and Key West. Port stays will be extended. On some of the 5-night cruises Empress calls at Havana in Cuba. Later in 2018 and through 2019 Empress of the Seas makes many trips to Cuba, as well as the surrounding Western Caribbean, with cruises of 6, 7 and 8 nights. Empress has no formal dining evenings.

Empress of the Seas has recently returned to Royal Caribbean fleet, and been newly refurbished. As the fleet’s smallest vessel the number of dining and activity options are fewer, yet proportional to the 1600 guests. Her specialty is offering short breaks, with entertainment for the young and families. There’s good Wi-Fi ship wide and wheelchair access for two interior and two oceanview staterooms. Décor throughout is warm and attractive and there are five bars and lounges, a library and card room for relaxation. You pay for many extras including gratuities, and need to plan where to eat and what to purchase, so order packages online before your cruise.

Accommodation
Staterooms come in five main categories and 16 price points, with variations based on guests’ needs: Royal Suites, Owner’s Suites, Mini-suites, Oceanview (some with restricted view), and Interior. The Suites have balconies. When selecting accommodation consider the view, the level of privacy, and location near to or far from activity areas. All staterooms come with private bathroom, twin or King size bed, vanity area, hair dryer, interactive TV and phone. Many cabins are family-friendly with up to two additional Pullman or sofa beds. There are no single or inter-connecting cabins, and four are wheelchair-accessible. In-cabin service and dining is available 24-hours, with a full menu service to the top suites.

Suites come with priority check-in, balconies, and depending on the suite you may have whirlpool tub, bath, and other amenities. The stateroom’s TV enables guests to request room service, to book show tickets, shore excursions, movies and specialty dining, and keep track of their onboard account. Smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom and any stateroom balcony. Cigarette, cigar, e-cigarette and pipe smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas.

Food and Dining
For the Main Dining Room select from three dining choices before cruising: fixed seating at the same table nightly, at either early or late sitting; open-seated anytime dining (with pre-paid gratuities) at a flexible time; and early sitting My Family Time Dining that allows children aged 3 to 11 years to leave for their Adventure Ocean kids club. Menus feature healthy, vegetarian and kosher options. Special dietary needs can be catered for by giving advanced notice. Menus change daily throughout the cruise. Evening dress is casual or smart casual.

There’s the specialty venue (cover charge) Chops Grille for signature dining and premium cuts of steak. Other complimentary eating options include buffet-style Windjammers Café open around the clock, and 24-hour room service. In all, the ship has 8 bars, clubs and lounges, with no cover charges. There are package deals for wine, juice, sodas and bottled water.

Entertainment
A signature feature of RCI vessels is a Broadway-style production in the Main Theatre. A second venue hosts cabaret shows and late-night adult entertainment. Try your hand at gaming in Casino Royale. Live music features in the lounges, bars and specialty venues. If you want a quiet cruise, try another ship. Alternatively, just stroll around and shop duty-free, or for a quiet time retire to the Library/Card Room or Internet Café.

On-shore excursions and explorations can be pre-booked or arranged on board. Choose from a range of classes and seminars to bring out your creativity and expand your knowledge. The Vitality Spa and Fitness Center are fully equipped and runs a variety of beauty services and fitness classes. Teens have their own lounge areas and disco, a video games arcade, and the Adventure Ocean youth programmes that cater for all ages. And every RCI ship has a rock-climbing wall.
