Life aboard Costa neoRomantica
In early 2016 you’ll find Cost neoRomantica off the coast of East Africa. In March she returns to the Mediterranean via Suez. In April 2016 three 15-night cruises sail from Savona, Italy, to Greece, Turkey and the Black Sea. In May and June neoRomantica sails from Amsterdam to the fjord coast of Norway. On 13 June there’s a special voyage from Amsterdam that reaches North Cape (mainland Europe’s northern-most point) and Longyearbyen, the world’s northernmost town. See the midnight sun looking north from the ship, over the North Pole, at midnight of course. That’s special.

The rebuilt Costa neoRomantica at 57,150 GT carries 1578 passengers. She boasts brand new areas including a 100-label wine and cheese bar, coffee and sweet bar, show lounge bar with dance floor, Samsara Spa and spa accommodations. Her public rooms are decorated with rare woods, Carrara marble, and millions of dollars in original works of art. Expect an Italian ambiance – lively, noisy, easygoing and casual dress. Fellow passengers on European cruises will speak a mix of Romance languages, and during school holidays expect many children. Check the Information Desk for your tipping choice. In Europe expect smoking on board. Customs on Australian cruises may well vary.

Accommodation
The ship has two new half-decks with 111 additional cabins and more private balconies. There are 56 Samsara Spa cabins and six spa suites. Two-thirds of all cabins have an outside view. Standard Outside-view/Interior cabins are of generous size, attractively furnished, with two lower beds, satellite TV, AC, mini-bar, hairdryer and phone. Some cabins have one or two extra pull-down berths for families. Room service is 24 hours daily. Accommodation caters for singles, disabled, and families.

The 11 price categories include 18 mini-suites and 16 very spacious suites. Ten suites have a private rounded balcony, marble-clad bathrooms with Jacuzzi bathtub, and separate shower enclosure. The six forward suites are the largest, but without balconies. Suite guests receive daily delivery of the lunch and dinner menus for in-suite dining, pillow menu, bathrobe and slippers, and kit of bathroom products. Other specials include fresh flowers, fruit daily, butler service, and preferred seating in the main dining rooms.

Food and Dining
The Botticelli Restaurant with its European Renaissance atmosphere, has two dinner seatings, and table sizes from two to eight guests. Cuisine is international with Italian specialties every day: pastas, veal dishes and seafood are popular, as are dishes that reflect the regions the ship cruises. Desserts are Midnight Buffets are exceptional. Giardino Restaurant Buffet is the place for breakfast and lunch. The outdoor Terrazza Café, with its teak deck under a canvas sailcloth awning, is lavish and varied. Room service if offered 24 hours per day, including free continental breakfast.

Costa neoRomantica also has a club restaurant for fine dining with menus by award-winning chefs. Passengers in Samsara Spa accommodations have their own restaurant. Try Juliet’s Patisserie for pastries and after dinner drinks. The informal La Taverna Pizza is a bar offering freshly made pizza, with different specialties each day. Excellent cappuccino and espresso coffees, served in china cups, are always available in various bars around the ship. If you are working out in the gym, a very pleasant Juice Bar serves smoothies and other nonalcoholic concoctions.

Entertainment
For evening entertainment there is the Colosseo Theatre spread over two decks. Production shows, dancing, travel lectures and movies are held here amid an impressive Roman setting. New to the re-styled ship are a cabaret and a nightclub. A popular meeting point is the main lounge's Piazza Navona Grand Bar. The Galileo Disco and Observatory at the top of the ship gives 360 degree views by day and late-night dancing. Each seven day cruise has two formal nights and a Toga Night; the rest is mostly resort casual.

On board are two pools, four Jacuzzis, outdoor jogging track, fitness centre and gymnasium. The Samsara Spa will consist of a wellness area with gym, a thalassotherapy pool, treatment rooms, sauna and Turkish bath. Costa Kids Club offers extensive programs for youngsters, and guaranteed relaxation for parents. For teens there is the Squok Club with PlayStation entertainment.
