Killybegs is a town in County Donegal, Ireland. It boasts Ireland's finest natural deepwater harbour, is Ireland’s largest fishing port, and is a bustling town with plenty to offer the visitor. The town is situated at the head of a scenic harbour filled with trawlers, and at the base of a vast mountainous tract extending northward. Visit the Killybegs Information Centre to find out about self-guided tours. The Town Heritage Walk is packed with many interesting places to visit from St. Catherine’s Well to the remnants of Cat Castle.

At the Maritime & Heritage Centre is the world renowned Old Donegal Carpet Factory where carpets made on giant looms were hand knotted for many prestigious buildings around the world. With breathtaking mountain & marine scenery and featuring megalithic tombs and ruins of monastic settlements, the area is a mecca for tourists with rich cultural interests. Just a 10 minute drive west takes visitors to the fabulous Blue Flag beach at Fintra from where you can see the lighthouse at St John’s Point and the distinctive Benbulben mountain in County Sligo.

Then there’s the the Hidden Gems coastal tour to the renowned highest accessible sea cliffs in Europe at Sliabh League along the coastal route. While there, stop to sample a Guinness or a welcome cup of tea or Irish coffee. You can spend hours watching the fishing boats unload fish and fishermen mending nets and spot the resident seals in the harbour as you take a leisurely stroll along the Shore Road, or even play a round of golf at the Narin Portnoo links club. Horse-riding can be arranged.
