New look Pacific Dawn set to slide into Brisbane with EXCITING NEW FEATURES!
P&O is showcasing its commitment to the Queensland cruise market with the announcement of a major multi-million-dollar refit for its Brisbane-based ship Pacific Dawn.

The 2000-guest ship will be refurbished in February 2017, emerging from its drydock with a stylish new look and a host of new features never before seen on a Queensland-based ship including a waterpark with two exhilarating waterslides and an interactive kids-only play area.

The refit comes as P&O prepares for its biggest year of Queensland cruising, with two ships sailing from Brisbane year round. Between them, Pacific Dawn and Pacific Aria will offer a record 108 cruises to holidaymakers in 2017.

Maintaining the cruise line’s reputation for innovation, the Brisbane-based superliner will emerge from its revamp with The Pantry, an international market place of fresh food outlets which will replace the traditional ship buffet.

Pacific Dawn’s Pantry will include a new Mediterranean-inspired offering called Nic and Toni’s. Also on offer will be the extremely popular poolside Grill, offering casual dining options.

Several of Pacific Dawn’s public spaces will be redesigned to mirror the striking contemporary look which has become a trademark of the P&O fleet including the atrium, Charlie’s, The Orient and the Promenade Bar, which will be styled with similar décor to sister ships Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden.

The Dome nightclub will be completely revamped and will offer more live music than ever before. The Orient will take on a new summer pub vibe and the Promenade Bar will be transformed into the perfect venue to enjoy a delicious cocktail with friends while listening to live music.

P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell said the refurbishment would kick off a big year for the cruise line in Queensland. “There’s no question that Queenslanders love holidaying at sea with P&O, so we’re very excited that our Brisbane guests will soon be able to enjoy a stylish new Pacific Dawn as part of their cruise holiday experience, alongside one of our latest ships, Pacific Aria.”

Holidaymakers will be able to enjoy Pacific Dawn’s new features from March 2017.
P&O unveils exciting new features on Pacific Explorer
P&O Cruises will take holidaymakers on a voyage of discovery on its latest ship, Pacific Explorer, which will debut next year with exciting new features including two spectacular waterslides, a chilled barefoot bowls green and an elegant supper club for evening entertainment.

With Pacific Explorer’s inaugural cruise from Sydney now less than one year away, P&O have unveiled details of the ship’s multi-million-dollar refurbishment.

Maintaining the cruise line’s reputation for innovation, Pacific Explorer will be packed with surprises, including P&O’s first ever waterpark at sea, as well as its most extensive range of dining options, delivered in a stylish, contemporary setting.

The fun starts on the top deck with two breathtaking waterslides and a waterpark that can be enjoyed by guests of all ages. With a shaded area for kids featuring a dumping bucket and oversized water toys. Continuing P&O’s food revolution, Pacific Explorer will offer some tantalising new dining concepts, including The Black Circus, a supper club venue offering delicious food served with a side of cabaret-style entertainment.

Cruisers will also be able to enjoy a slice of Italy, with a new pizza restaurant offering gourmet pizzas and share platters, while the cruise line’s popular international food market place, The Pantry, will be extended to include a ninth outlet, Nic and Toni’s, serving Mediterranean cuisine.

Also on offer will be a poolside Lobster & Burger bar, serving delicious lobster and seafood rolls as well as premium beef and pulled pork burgers.

P&O favourites Dragon Lady, Angelo’s and Salt grill by Luke Mangan will also be on board, while a range of new bars, including a stylish hidden bar, will provide the perfect location for relaxing pre and post dinner drinks. Announcing details of the refurbishment, P&O Cruises President Sture Myrmell said Pacific Explorer’s décor would reflect modern Australia, combining elegance with relaxed comfort to create the striking contemporary look which has become a trademark of the P&O fleet.

Presently sailing as Dawn Princess with sister line Princess Cruises, the 77,000-tonne Pacific Explorer will be refitted in May and June next year, sailing on her first cruise from Sydney on June 22
