Featured Cruiseline - Meet the Queens

CUNARD
Cunard Line is a British-American company based in Southampton, and a leading operator of trans-Atlantic routes. Cunard is a luxury brand trading on its British traditions and display of maritime history. Its vessels, with trademark red and black funnels are one of the most luxurious ships at sea.

Each vessel has a regal air showcasing grand atriums, promenade shopping arcades and choice of dining options based on cabin accommodations. The royal atmosphere guests experience is exemplified by afternoon tea, a white-glove affair served in the lovely two-deck-high Queens Room. For passengers who seek exclusive access to certain areas, Cunard's Queens Grill Suites are available.

Passengers are mostly British and North Americans, with announcements in English, German, French, and occasionally Spanish. Cunard life is suited to individuals or couples of all ages with a nostalgic and historical appreciation, Children's facilities are excellent, and youngsters are supervised by real English nannies. (Cunard is the only line which allows you to take your dog or cat with you.) Cunard offers the services of a dancing partner for solo cruisers.

Queen Elizabeth
Cunard Line's newest MS Queen Elizabeth, with distinctive black hull and white superstructure, flies the Red Ensign of her home port Southampton. The interior design is reminiscent of the 1930s – graceful, ornate, with curved staircases and spectacular artwork that are all part of her opulence. Some of the highlights are the traditional Cunard ballroom, dining in the Garden Lounge under the vaulted glass ceiling, and playing croquet and bowls on the Games Deck.

All cabins reflect conservative British decor, and come with excellent bedding, universal electrical sockets, toiletries and hairdryer. The perks and increased service of Grill-class accommodation are worth it.

There is a range of magnificently presented bars and lounges available according to accommodation. Cunard host its "Supper Club" - afternoon teas, dancing, music and taster menus - in the Garden Lounge conservatory beneath its lofty domed roof. Cafe Caranthia serves special teas and pastries. For sweeping views of the bow, and a martini, the Commodore Club welcomes you. The Midships Bar with its pianist is a place for pre-dinner drinks. The Yacht Club offers cosy seating, good wine, and a dance floor.

Queen Mary 2
QM2 is the largest ocean liner ever built (three cruise ships are larger), built to weather the harsh North Atlantic, and faster than any cruise ship. She is one of the few ships of today with remnants of a class system, linking staterooms with dining venues, and guests can bring their pets for the voyage. This vessel offers the finest grandeur and décor of any ship built to date.

Amenities include state-of-the-art gym, the largest ballroom at sea in the Queens Room, lavish musicals in the Royal Court Theatre. One the other hand, some of the most memorable times will be those times on deck, spent reading, talking with other guests, or simply watching the sea pass by.

Evening entertainment centres on the Royal Court Theatre (seating 1,094) with lavish West End-style productions, as well as cabaret, comedy, acrobats and jugglers. Live music in most of the bars comes from high-class bands, duos and soloists. Waltz the evening away (after your ballroom lessons) in the grandest dance floor at sea, the Queens Room; or perhaps your style is better suited to the Caribbean Band in the G32 nightclub.

Queen Victoria
MS Queen Victoria is outfitted as a cruise ship, with the décor of a classic liner. She is best suited to couples and single travellers who enjoy features of dressing up for dinner and a British ambiance. The Queen Victoria's public rooms are mostly arranged on the lower public decks of the ship: the Royal Court Theatre, casino, Lion Pub, Queen's Room, Todd English á la carte restaurant, Chart Room bar, Library, Britannia restaurant, Royal Arcade, and Midships Lounge.

After dining attend the theatre's West-End-style entertainment or waltz the evening away. On the upper decks are the Royal Spa and Fitness Centre, two outdoor pools, lounges and alternative dining areas. Service at all times and in all locations is impeccable Cunard standard.

All cabins reflect conservative British decor, and come with excellent bedding, universal electrical sockets, toiletries and hairdryer. The perks and increased service of Grill-class accommodation are worth it. In a minor addition to the Grills' areas, passengers in the loftiest accommodations have use of a strategically placed pair of telescopes that provide a bird's-eye view of ports, coming or going.

To book one of these amazing Queens call us on 1800 121 187.
