Featured Cruise Region - Alaska with Holland America

Featured Cruise Region - Alaska

The Alaska coast & Inside Passage

...is regarded as one of the most scenic cruising regions on earth, and with good reason. With towering mountain ranges, crystalline glaciers and abundant wildlife you'll fill up your camera in no time! Touring before or after your Alaskan cruise provides the opportunity to take in the Denali National Park, visit Victoria and the stunning Butchart Gardens, or explore the Rockies.

From May to September 2012, 22 large vessels (1400 to 2400 passengers) from Carnival, Celebrity, Holland America, Norwegian, Princess and Royal Caribbean are cruising this coastline.

Luxury smaller vessels (388 to 490 passengers) Seven Seas Navigator and Silver Shadow provide a different onboard ambiance, with fewer guests and more travelled age group.

On-shore excursions for all cruise lines use the same tour providers, The scenery is the same for all – magnificent. In selecting a cruise, consider pre-and post-tour options from your ports of embarkation and disembarkation.

Most cruises are of 7 nights, but range up to 14 nights. Choose a round-trip cruise (from Vancouver/Seattle/San Francisco), or one way (either northbound or southbound, with the northern port Anchorage or Seward).

Many of our cruise team visited Alaska during the recent season and can provide first-hand advice. Speak to one now on 1800 121 187 regarding your cruise, flights, hotels, touring, insurance, future events & more!

The Holland America Cruise Line

...is the most awarded in the industry with 15 consecutive "Best Overall Cruise Value" awards from the World Ocean & Cruise Liner Society and is consistently ranked at the top year after year in Conde Nast Traveler's "Readers Choice Awards" and Travel + Leisure magazine's, "World's Best" awards.

What sets them apart is they consistently provide gracious and attentive service, with one of the highest staff-member-to -guest ratios along with spacious staterooms 25% larger and verandahs 100% larger than most others. Guests are offered dining choices of formal elegance, intimate specialty dining, casual fare and complimentary 24-hour room service. These are only a few of their fleet wide "Signature of Excellence" luxuries that are normally only available (if at all) on cruises starting around $300 per day.

In 2012 they will have by far the largest fleet of 7 ships cruising Alaskan waters. Prices differ slightly between them (from $156 to $186/day) aas well as being lower at the start and end of the season (May to September).

Cruises are mostly for 7 nights, either return trips from Vancouver or Seattle, or one way northbound or southbound Seward cruises. The exception is Amsterdam which has a 14 night port-intensive round trip from Seattle with the far point Kodiak.
