S.S. Beatrice Overview

Uniworld's S.S. Beatrice offers a number of cruise sectors along the Danube River and Main-Danube Canal. Six itineraries are offered on the Danube, stopping in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia. The various sectors are between river ports Nuremberg (Germany), Vienna (Austria), Budapest (Hungary) and Giurgiu (Romania). Coaches link Nuremberg to Prague (the capital of the Czech Republic), and Giurgiu to Bucharest (the capital of Romania). These side trips to capital cities are built into cruise packages. So, cruises are of 9 and 18 nights, upriver and down river. Cruising through the beautiful Wachau Valley in Austria, along the river of composers and poets, offers an exceptional holiday. Sample the best sights of Europe in world-class comfort. Music aficionados may enjoy a classical concert in Vienna, a children’s choir in Salzburg, and an exclusive organ recital at Göttweig Abbey. Through December and the New Year visit the Markets over seven nights on a cruise between Nuremburg and Vienna. Everyone will delight in discovering the unique gifts and collectables found along the way.

Accommodation

All cabins are outside, comfortable, and maintained by twice-a-day service. All have premium bedding, controllable AC, direct-dial telephone, flat-screen TV with satellite, storage, built-in safe, vanity, hair dryer, bathrobes, and compact bathroom fitted out with Hermès bath products. Lower deck cabins have a head-height wide window, and the middle and upper deck staterooms have twin full-height sliding glass doors. An elevator services all accommodation decks. There are some connecting rooms ideal for friends and families travelling together.

Food and Dining

Mozart’s Restaurant is on the middle deck, with excellent views to accompany your French-classic dining and provides open seating. Dining is acclaimed as “best-of-the-best” by observers of the river cruise industry. Breakfasts and lunches are full buffet with an extensive array of hot and cold items, and individually prepared items are available. Menu items change daily, follow the region and season, and include Continental and American preparations. Local and regional specialities are featured. Dinner is open-seating with four courses. Accompanying dinner are fine wines and a selection of beers and soft drinks.

Entertainment

The cruise focus is on exploration and walking tours with local guides. Tour variations continue to expand to meet the requests of guests: you have a choice of five ways to explore, according to your wishes. Travel lectures expand your knowledge of the regions visited. Visiting entertainers come on board along the route. A Family-Friendly program is offered during school holiday times.
