Le Soléal Overview

In April and May 2019 Le Soléal sails around the Inland Sea of Japan and reaches South Korea. For the adventurous, cross from Petropavlovsk on Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, to Juneau in Alaska, over 12 nights, in June/July 2019. Call in at nine islands on the way. In September/October take an in-depth look at Central American sites not visited by other ships. At the turn of 2019-2020 Le Soléal is again in the sub-Antarctic, south of Ushuaia. If you are on an expedition cruise, check all pre-cruise requirements months ahead of time. In March/April 2020 Le Soléal crosses the Pacific to French Polynesia, Fiji, Solomon Islands, and five rarely-visited islands in Micronesia. In May/June see ‘the best of Japan’ over 7-night cruises.

Accommodation

All 132 staterooms are of generous size with sea views, and include all the usual luxury amenities: DVD, CD and iPod players with Video on Demand, Internet access, controllable AC, bath robe and toiletries, wardrobes encased in white leather, and king or twin beds. On Deck 3 there are eight Superior Staterooms each with a panoramic window, and 28 Deluxe Staterooms with balcony, walk-in robe and bathtub. On Decks 4 to 6 there are 92 Prestige Staterooms. Forty of these can be linked with adjoining cabins and reconfigured, to make 20 Prestige Suites. These will have two bathrooms, and separate sleeping and entertainment areas. Staterooms can accommodate a third person.

Food and Dining

French cuisine making good use of local fresh foods is a feature of this vessel. The two restaurants welcome guests to breakfast, lunch and dinner. The 268-seat Gastronomic Restaurant, at the rear and adjacent to the Marina, serves meals and complimentary wines worthy of the finest restaurants. The smaller Grill Restaurant adjacent to the pool offers al fresco dining with buffet lunches and themed dinners. Dress for dining is smart casual – it’s only the waiters who wear black ties and white gloves.

Entertainment

Lounges are used for lectures by prominent experts, depending on the voyage, and also for shows, as is the 260-seat Theatre. For solitude retire to the library, games area with Wii™ consoles, or Internet room. Every guest can feel comfortable relaxing in his/her own way. Guests will find that most entertainment comes from ocean views and on-shore excursions. After all, this is an expedition vessel! Evenings are the times to share the day’s experiences with friends.
