Le Bellot Overview

Le Bellot sets sail under the French flag in April 2020. Itineraries released to date offer the following sailings. On her maiden voyage from final fitting in Alesund, Norway, sail three nights from 15 April 2020 to Copenhagen. Then through April and May cruise the southern coast of Norway and the Baltic Sea. In June Le Bellot crosses the North Sea to Iceland and back to Bergen. The ship heads south to France in September. All these voyages explore the cultures and environments of the ports visited. Joseph René Bellot was a French Arctic explorer of high reputation. He died in 1952 while on a search expedition for Sir John Franklin. His memorial joins those of other Arctic explorers on Beechey Island, NW of Baffin Island in the Canadian Territory of Nunavut.

All cabins have private balconies, air conditioning, two twins that can be pushed together to form a king-sized bed, shower, complimentary mini-bar, flat-screen TV with satellite TV and video on demand, a desk with stationery, iPod, safe, hair dryer, bathrobes and fine French bath products. Staterooms will be brand new, reflecting contemporary French design. Seventy-nine of the staterooms are for two guests, at 19 sq.m. with 4 sq.m. balcony and shower. Five De Luxe Suites for up to 3 guests are larger at 27 sq.m. Four Privilege Suites are larger again at 32 sq.m. and cater for four guests.

Food and Dining

The interior dining area is located on Deck 3, and seats 70. Here you will savor French gastronomy, serving grilled meats daily, along with a variety of salads and desserts. At the aft of Deck 4 you will find a 260 sq.m. panoramic restaurant that can accommodate all 184 guests in one sitting. Designed differently to that on the other Ponant ships, this dining area, which opens to an al fresco area, will offer a buffet of salads, desserts and cheeses. The attentive crew will provide à la carte service for hot meals.

The main theatre seats 188, comes equipped with the latest sound and lighting technology, and an LED wall as the stage backdrop for the projection of high-resolution images and videos. Presentations by naturalists, lecturers, experienced guides and specialists are delivered in the large main lounge. All cabins have direct access to On-Demand Videos. There’s a unique Blue Eye underwater lounge, with three underwater cameras that project screen images, as well as two underwater portholes that let you view directly what’s there beneath the water line – porpoises, whales . . ? As you recline and view life underwater, listen also to the subaquatic sounds pickup up by aquaphone.
